The Journal of Health, Population and Nutrition (JHPN), a peer-reviewed publication of ICDDR,B, is published 6 times a year.
ICDDR,B became the focal point of world's medical communities for developing oral rehydration therapy (ORT) which saves millions of lives each year. The Centre is an independent, international, non-profit organization for research, education, training, clinical services, and information dissemination. Located in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh, it is the only truly international health research institution based in a developing country. The Centre?s research activities now encompass a wide range of protocols with emphasis on child health, reproductive health, nutrition, infectious diseases and vaccine sciences, health and family-planning systems, population sciences, poverty and health, HIV/AIDS, diarrhoeal diseases, and social and beahvioural sciences.
As one of the scientific publications of the Centre, the quarterly Journal of Health, Population and Nutrition (incorporating the Journal of Diarrhoeal Diseases Research) publishes articles of authors from any part of the globe, but has a special interest in publishing original research of relevance to developing countries. It publishes original research articles, review articles, short communications, and letters on new findings.
The JHPN is published in English 6 times (February, April, June, August, October, and December) a year. No separate supplements are published. It is indexed/abstracted by the major international indexing systems, including the PubMed/MEDLINE, Index Medicus, Current Contents: Clinical Medicine, Google Scholar, Research Alert, SCI Expanded, SCI JCR, POPLINE, Elsevier, Bibliograhic databases (Scopus, Embase, EMBiology and Emcare), Bioline International, Cambridge Scientific Abstracts, CAB Abstracts, CAB Health, and many others.

The mission of the Journal of Health, Population and Nutrition is to provide a forum for rapidly publishing new findings on issues pertinent to maternal, child and family health and related issues of population and nutrition. Issues of fertility, child spacing, maternal and child nutrition, and specific common illnesses are integrally related to overall health status, and papers that deal with these interactions are especially welcome.
