We tested the zinc-sulfate dispersible tablets produced for us by Nutriset for the time necessary to totally dissolve into syrup. These were compressed and packaged (alu-PVC packs) in France by Nutriset and have been stored at the center (at room temperature) for approximately 1 year. Dispersion was tested in water, ORS and breast-milk. Ten tablets were used in each group.
The dispersible tablet was placed in the middle of a teaspoon that contains 5 ml of liquid. Water, ORS or breast-milk was added in drops to fill the spoon. Then a stopwatch was started. Dispersion was assisted by figure agitation and considered completely dissolved when solid tablet was no longer palpable.
