Inaugural meeting of MotherNewBorNet at Dhaka in April 2005

General Network Objective: To enhance the design, application and scale-up of research findings (evidence-based best practices) to improve community-based integrated postpartum care for both mothers and newborns through a network of USAID bilateral programs and cooperating agencies (CAs)

Objectives of the meeting:

  • Provide technical update on the state-of- the-art on Community Based, Integrated Post-Partum Care (CBIPPC)
  • Identify technical assistance needs and strategies for meeting those needs
  • Identify gaps in advocacy, program, practice and research
  • Establish mechanism or USAID bilateral and CA collaboration
  • Develop the Terms of Reference (TORs) for the Network: tasks through September 2006 including means of communication
