The meeting was held on 16-19 July, 2008, in Toronto, Canada. The participants included the focal persons of the country activities-Bangladesh, Uganda, Bolivia, Guatemala; MNI core members- from Cornell University, University of South Carolina, IFPRI, and ICDDRB; high government officials, and representative from World Bank. Dr. Nila Heredia, former minister of health of Bolivia was among the key dignitaries. The highly participatory sessions were facilitated by Dr. Robert Rich. The participants discussed and analysed experiences of nutrition mainstreaming processes from diverse socio-political perspectives. The meeting applied the “Fish bowl” technique to generate in depth insights on the issues pertaining to all the core countries. Later synthesis was done under different themes.
