Logistics & Archives

The Laboratory Management and Archives section coordinates the logistic activities and provides archival support to the Laboratory Sciences Division with the objective of assisting the management of the Division. For carrying out research activities of the Division smoothly, the section coordinates functions, such as installation, repair, renovation, security, cleaning, etc. The section also coordinates the procurement of scientific equipment, reagents, chemicals, consumables, stationery, and other materials through local and overseas purchase. The section oversees the maintenance of the Cold Room and the Specimen Bank. Renovation of the Immunology Laboratory, Tuberculosis Laboratory, and the first floor of the Agrani Bank for the HIV/AIDS Programme activities were completed in 2003 to facilitate their smooth functioning. Renovation of the Enteric Bacteriology Laboratory started at the end of 2003 and is expected to be completed in early 2004.
