Health Systems & Economics Unit

The Health Systems and Economics Unit (HSEU) currently has 21 staff members including 13 national level staff and one international staff. Health research in this domain addresses strategies and means to provide better services, the development of materials and capacity building, health financing and health policy regulation and monitoring. While research covers a range of health topics from reproductive health services, family planning, HIV/AIDS to tuberculosis and neonatal mortality. The aim is to support the health care system through determining the effectiveness of interventions and identifying issues in scaling up proven interventions. Researchers under this unit work in collaboration with the international institutions, public, private and NGO sectors to ensure that research supports both policy and practice.
